A well-designed power system ensures robust performance and maximizes industrial plant availability under all operating conditions. This certificate is a vital study to understand the basics of a secure and safe electrical supply. Important topics include Power converters (rectifiers, inverters, buck/boost converters, AC voltage controllers), electrical motors and generators, conventional and renewable generating plants, electrical safety and smart grids.

This certificate requires five courses and is available to MMET and MET majors. In addition, this certificate will also be available to non-EGT majors and engineers working in industries who are interested in learning basics of power systems.
