MUSM 353 Survey of Western Music II (3 credits)

This course surveys the development of Western music from 1770 to the present, focusing on art music traditions from Europe and the Americas. The discussion includes readings and videos to illustrate progressive trends in form, orchestration, and tonality, progressing from the Classical through Romantic Eras and into the 20th/21st Century.
