Salmon P. Chase College of Law offers full-time day; part-time day; and part-time evening divisions. Beginning in 2018, the curriculum consists of required and elective courses. Ninety credit hours are required to graduate. Full-time students complete the program in three years, and part-time students usually complete the program in four or five years. Chase has a number of academic-support and development programs designed to enhance the law school experience. Chase also offers a Master of Legal Studies, as well as a Juris Doctor/Master of Business Administration (J.D./M.B.A.) degree program in conjunction with the Haile/US Bank College of Business.

The Chase College of Law seeks to enroll students who have the best prospect of successfully completing a legal education and who are highly motivated for the study of law. The College of Law also recognizes the importance of enrolling a diverse student body that represents unique viewpoints because of varied personal, educational, and professional experiences. To achieve these goals, the  admissions committee will complete a thorough review of the required application materials and will consider the applicant’s testing and academic performance history; employment background; leadership, community, or volunteer service; significant academic or professional achievements; and other talents, skills, or experiences disclosed by the applicant that demonstrate an aptitude to complete our degree requirements. 

The Chase College of Law Admissions Committee requires applicants to complete an application through the required application and document assembly service.

The admissions committee adheres to the standards set forth by the American Bar Association. Prior to enrollment, the applicant must earn a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and admission is conditional upon the applicant’s receipt of the degree.

Full-time students and part-time day students enter in the fall semester; part-time evening students may begin in either the summer or fall semester.  The priority deadline for applications is March 15 for summer start and April 1 for fall start. 

NKU Chase also accepts applications from students who are in good academic standing at another law school and wish to transfer to the College of Law. Chase will typically accept no more than thirty credit-hours of transfer credits from another ABA-approved law school. Students transferring from a non-ABA-approved law school may not receive credit for more than thirty credits.

To receive credit for the courses taken at another law school, the student must have earned a grade of at least a “C.” Transfer students will not receive credit for any course in which they received a grade of “C-minus” or lower. If the other law school uses a number grading system, a student must earn at least a 2.0 on a 4.0 scale (or this equivalent) to receive transfer credit for that course. A student’s grades from the other law school will not be factored into the calculation of his or her NKU Chase grade point average. The student’s NKU Chase transcript will simply note that the student received ‘credit’ from the other institution.

NKU Chase does not have any articulation agreements with any other educational institutions.

Chase is accredited by the American Bar Association, and it is a member of the Association of American Law Schools.
